Concealed 6mm fasteners are a superior alternative to screws which secure decking boards to joists with effortless precision, flawless finish, and greater durability.
These composite decking spacers fit each plank with an exact 6mm gap between boards, making installation quick, easy and consistent throughout the deck. Hidden from sight and making visible screws redundant, the focus is kept on the pristine finish of the decking. By attaching at the side of each board, our fasteners not only make your decking look seamless, but also stay drier which reduces wear and tear. Additionally, without weakening the planks with screws or nails and with fewer places for water to get in, there is less likelihood of needing to repair boards.
The fasteners slide into the groove of the boards once the first one has been positioned, attaching into the middle of the joists below. Doing this guarantees a 6mm gap between boards, leaving space for expansion. Each clip should be tightened to make it as secure as possible, done throughout the decking so that every joist has a clip. Doing this means the decking will be sturdy throughout. Once the first board has been installed, put the next fastener in the groove of the next board, making sure it falls into place and repeating the same process. After the second board has been secured, you can then secure the composite deck screws in the first row.
One of the benefits of using 6mm fasteners is the ability to make changes, being able to fit screwdrivers and drills between the gaps of boards. This also makes installation easier as you can reach between boards. For a denser spacing between boards, try our Concealed 3mm Fasteners.
It is recommended that decking is fitted on a simple concrete base and our WPC joists, creating a strong and long-lasting decking.
